Introduction- Though times are very different and I am not able to fully grasp the racial injustice that Frederick Douglass and the African American community underwent, I can relay it to modern day events and society.
Narration- While the 4th of July is considered independence day, Frederick claims that the "freedom and independence" was selective and only applied to the white people. Douglass does not care for the glory that America had gotten in the past 100 years and instead wanted to focus on an unjust disgusting act of slavery that was very prevalent at the time. Division- The fourth of July is seen as an overall day of freedom to celebrate the division from the British, but in reality it is a selfish and ignorant because freedom had not been granted to all. The white's gloated over the African American community and used the holiday as an excuse to treat the community more vile and disgusting. Proof- Douglass shows that although he is not enslaved at the time of the speech that his people and community still receive unjust treatment for the color of their skin. The sad thing is that this mistreatment is still extremely relevant in today's society, but I will never be able to truly empathize with the unjust treatment. Refutation- The fourth of July is the most important day in the short roller coaster history of the United States as the 13 colonies completed the unthinkable against the Great British forces. Conclusion- In conclusion, the fourth of July is not freedom for all and until it is equal freedom it should not be celebrated in the fashion it is today.

Abigail and John Proctor have private conversation
Abigail tries to convince John Proctor she is not a witch John- Abigail nice to see you again. Abigail- Indeed it is John it is nice to see you again, finally am I right. (Smiling while stepping closer to John) John- Yes, it is I did not think I would see you so soon. Abigail- So soon John it has been the longest we have not seen each other. (Gasping from John’s statement) John- Anyway, what were you doing on a fine night last night? (Questions without acknowledging Abigail) Abigail- John do not tell me you believe them too, am I not allowed to talk to you John. (Puts her hands on her head and starts to weep) John- I did not say anything of the such Abigail, what are you talking about? Abigail- Do not act stupid with me John! You think I am a witch like the rest of the people don’t you. You know what John I am a witch is that what you want to hear! (Conceding) (Continues to cry with her head to the ground) John- Abigail I did not call you a witch do not jump to conclusions or put words in my mouth. I am just asking how you have been since it has been so long. Abigail- I understand John you think I am too beautiful to be a witch I knew you still felt that way. Can you just talk to me like how you used to? (Humblebrag and Seduce) (Looks up and puts her hand on John’s face) John-Those times are over Abigail I do not even recall what you are talking about you witch! Abigail- Bless you heart John, I know you need me back it is okay to admit it. I am not going anywhere you know where to find me and I know where to find you. (Expressed Love) (Sighs and looks John in the eyes) John- Maybe things can be the same I am sorry for raising my voice at you dear. I know you are not a witch it is all just talk within the townspeople. I just do not want you to tell anyone about the conversation. Abigail-John I knew you would listen; I will not tell anyone about this conversation. Anything for you my dear John you can have anything you want. (Takes a step and leans into John)
